A Quick Night-Time Tea Remedy
One would think that as we transition into a new season, immersed in long chilly evenings and awakening to glimpses of the sun, that a refreshing sleep would come to us easily. There is nothing better than curling up in a warm cozy bed on a cold eve, slowly entering dreamtime as the frost settles silently outside.
Yet for some of us, getting to sleep can be extremely difficult.
Maybe you have a million things running through your mind; maybe you’re anxiously awaiting the spring; maybe you have little ones keeping you awake all night. Whatever the reason, sometimes we all need a little help falling asleep.
It just so happens I was faced with one of those evenings not so long ago. Feeling exhausted and a flu coming on, I took action and made sure that I had a good nights rest to help my body regenerate and rejuvenate.
To ensure I was well rested, I used one of my favourite sleep aids – a simple herbal tea misto. I love tea, and I love the ritual of making tea. I learned the tea misto practice while working as a barista – it’s simply a blend of hot brewed tea with comforting steamed milk or cream.
I first choose my tea (either loose leaf or tea bags), steep the tea in boiling water, add in the warm milk, sometimes some cinnamon and honey, and then settle in with my steaming hot brew… sipping quietly, calmly, slowly.
Observe as your tensions melt away and your body relaxes to the warmth of the tea. Restful Sleep by Yogi Teas uses herbs especially for sleeping that will help to soothe your nerves and relax the mind so you can drift off into a restful slumber – don’t be surprised if you wake up the next morning feeling completely refreshed.
