The Art of Tea Pairing

Most people are familiar with combining wine to complement their lovely meal, but what if we introduced you to the art of pairing artisan tea with a nice dish? Tea pairing is changing the way people drink tea, which gives tea lover’s opportunities to expand their enjoyment of trying new flavours! Why not be one of the first to delve into this evolving trend and discover a new culinary favourite?

In addition to the tasty teas we’ve been offering for a couple of years now, we’ve recently brought in some new masterfully blended 100% organic teas that our customers are loving. Our new blends range from green, white, black, fruity, rooibos, yerba mate, to medicinal teas… We have something to suit everyone’s taste!

Kolya Natural's Truffle Chai Tea with chocolate

Kolya Natural’s Truffle Chai Tea with chocolate

A brand new beauty that has quickly become a favourite is our Truffle Chai Tea! This decadent tea contains cocoa nibs, coconut flakes, sarsaparilla root, roasted dandelion root, plus a few other flavours to enhance its black tea base.   A perfect reason to invite a few friends over for a special visit; offer them this blissful warm drink paired with deep dark chocolate treats and they’ll be feeling the love in no time. This tea will enhance the flavours of the cocoa and lend a chai aftertaste to the palate. An indulgence not soon forgotten!

Even though we are excited to offer our brand new teas, let us not forget our tried and true….

On the opposite end of the spectrum, we can pair tea and food for medicinal purposes. Have you been feeling run down, unable to take better care of your body and as a result you are now constipated and sluggish?

Kolya Natural's Cleansing Tea

Kolya Natural’s Cleansing Tea

Our Cleansing Tea will get things moving! Although we do not recommend the laxative herb Senna on a long term basis as a cure to constipation, our cleansing tea does contains the powerhouse herb Senna along with other complimentary carminative herbs to give you quick relief! Carminative herbs, such as cinnamon, ginger and fennel, help to reduce flatulence and bloating. They can also help ease stomach discomfort and soothe intestinal cramping. This tea can be useful periodically to get your body back on track!

A perfect pairing for this tea would be a nice hearty beet borscht! Beets are also very cleansing and can help alleviate Borschtconstipation while nourishing your body. A couple of days of our Cleansing Tea
and a few helpings of beet Borscht and you’ll be feeling lighter and more energized in no time. A gentle detox such as this can help reset your mind and body!

May I suggest the next time you infuse a cup of tea, why not get creative and think about what kind of meal might compliment the taste? If you want to try something new, please come see us for a wide range of favours – your new favourite is waiting for you :).

We offer only organic teas with no artificial flavours. It’s tea, the way tea should be!
