New to Kolya Naturals Apothecary: 100% Pure Essential Oil Facial Blends

The colourful autumn season is upon us here at Kolya Naturals and with changing seasons, comes changing skin.  To address this, we are excited to introduce our new essential oil facial blends! The buzz around the Apothecary is how easy it is to combine these oils with our wide selection of carrier oils to create a facial serum tailored to your individual skin type; custom made, perfect for you.

You may say, “I’m somewhat familiar with essential oils, but what is a Essential Oil Based-Serum?”

Allow me to explain: most of us wash our faces morning and night and then apply a moisturizing cream. This is a fantastic routine, but an essential oil based serum is a different kind of product for your face that you can use in addition to, or instead of your moisturizing cream, depending on your skin. Serums are facial liquids concentrated with ingredients that are anti-aging and therapeutic by nature.  The therapeutic properties of ingredients is the main focus of the product; moisturizing is secondary.  For those of you with oily skin, don’t shy away, you can still get the benefits from these serums.

You may then ask, “what benefits can an essential oil based serum give me, instead of a moisturizer?”.

Aha! The answer is in the question: the benefit is the essential oils that it contains.

Many essential oils are long known for their healing properties and because they are 100% pure, they can begin to repair any harm that has come to your skin.By using a carrier oil with essential oils, it allows the essential oils to penetrate deeply into the layers of the skin, while carrying the properties of the essential oils there too. Whether it be acne issues, too many days basking in the sun, or simply addressing aging skin and fine lines, most of us feel like our faces can use a little pick me up now and then!

These new essential oil blends contain precious oils such as Neroli, German Chamomile, and Sandalwood, just to name a few… The beauty is the variety of blends that we have, because they are suitable for so many skin types!

So, what suits your skin best?

Wisdom (geranium, ylang ylang, frankincense resin extract, rose, bisabolol wood & sandalwood) – lovely for mature & sun damaged skin by helping with fine lines and promoting younger looking skin.
Rejuvenating (neroli, rose, lavender, geranium, ylang ylang & palmarosa) – a beautiful blend with floral top notes, this oil uplifts the spirit while nourishing the skin.
Delicate (lavender, rose, ylang ylang & spikenard) – works well with most sensitive skin types.  Gentle yet effective.
Calming (sandalwood, bisabolol wood, geranium, roman chamomile, indian sarsaparilla root extract, rosewood extract, neroli, palmarosa & lavender) – soothing & anti-inflammatory to the skin, it helps soothe redness and irritation.
Pure Skin (tea tree, niaouli leaf, lavender, german chamomile extract, cypress, palmarosa & combava peel) – a non-drying, quick acting, anti-acneic blend.
Purify (cypress, ylang ylang, lavender, pink grapefruit & bisabolol wood) – regulates overactive sebum production.
Pore Refining (myrtle, lavender & carrot seed) – deeply cleansing & purifying to the skin, it is helpful for fine lines and anti-aging.

Maybe you’re looking for a soothing skin serum after the summer sun. Then you can consider picking up our Wisdom Blend containing Frankincense, Rose and Sandalwood essential oils to soothe away fine lines and rejuvenate sun damaged skin! We suggest you create this particular serum with our Kukui nut oil, straight from Hawaii! Give your face an exotic kiss!

Our Rejuvenation Blend contains Lavender, Rose and Ylang Ylang. Pair this blend with our Calendula carrier oil and you have yourself a lovely serum that soothes irritation while experiencing the scent of pure floral bliss!

Essential Oil Based-Serum

If you have questions, come into our beautiful Apothecary and we will be more than happy to help you choose a great essential oil blend in addition to a carrier oil so that the alchemist in you can begin blending our very own individualized essential oil serum! We have seven new essential oil blends in total and a section dedicated to our fabulous carrier oils. We feel quite confident that you will be sure to find one for your individual skin needs!

What you will need to create your own serum:

1 frosted glass pump bottle
30 ml of your favourite (custom chosen) carrier oil
Approximately 2-5 drops of your preferred essential oil blend (or more if you wish).
